Understanding Public Address and Voice Alarm

A public address and voice alarm system, often shortened to PAVA, is one system with two jobs. Day to day it carries clear announcements and background audio. In an emergency it gives people clear, spoken instructions on what to do and where to go. People respond faster to a spoken message than to a siren, so a clear system helps them act sooner.
