Farrer & Co required a flexible and high-quality audio visual solution for their newly acquired Queens House Auditorium reception & event breakout space and adjoining meeting rooms. The AV system design needed to support a range of different room configurations and uses – from formal presentations and hybrid meetings to training and live-streamed events. Key priorities included intuitive user operation, reliable audio clarity, seamless video distribution and flexibility to expand the system in the future.
Our approach focused on creating a seamless, future-proof AV environment that balanced technical performance with intuitive usability. The system design was built around a Crestron and the Q-SYS AV-over-IP platform, ensuring unified management of audio and video as well as flexible and scalable expansion if needed.
From the outset, the design considered Farrer & Co’s need for multi-use functionality. A 98” LG main display anchors the space, supported by strategically positioned relay and confidence monitors to enhance visibility for presenters and participants. PTZOptics cameras provide dynamic presenter and audience capture, while Shure beamforming ceiling microphones and Sennheiser wireless systems ensure clear, consistent audio coverage throughout the room.
The Crestron Teams MTR system and Barco ClickShare wireless presentation devices were combined with Q-SYS processing to deliver a unified experience across platforms and devices. A custom iPad interface was developed to give users instant access to pre-set room modes, simplifying control for non-technical staff while maintaining an advanced technician mode for more bespoke setups by approved personnel.
The three dedicated meeting room spaces were each equipped with Crestron Flex conferencing systems, Logitech cameras and Poly speakerphones, ensuring consistent functionality across the site.
Digital signage screens were installed at the Reception Entrance and Lobby areas to enhance event communication and corporate branding opportunities.
The completed system provided Farrer & Co with a professional, multi-use environment capable of hosting a wide range of high-profile internal and client meetings and events. The intuitive user interface simplifies operation for everyday users, while the advanced backend infrastructure allows technical teams to manage complex configurations with ease.
